Hiking

As my spirit is constantly restless, craving the serenity that only the backcountry can provide, the possibilities for adventure are endless. Those around me see this uneasiness and thus they support me totally as I chase, to some, crazy and undefined dreams which allow me to return to them a stronger and happier person in all the roles that life demands.

This page will be a place to post and share upcoming hikes, gear lists and meal plans. I just finished blogging the journal entries from my 2015 solo Lone Star Hiking Trail trek and you can find them by clicking Blog and then select the Lone Star Hiking Trail from blog list on the right nav bar. I will work on getting my AT and JMT journal entries out there soon.

It is important to know that I was honored in 2016 to be allowed to thru hike the John Muir Trail to raise money and awareness for those warriors that suffer from PTSD. It was a humbling and emotional experience for me as the hiker to pray for and honor different veterans at the summits of each of the mountains I summited.  I hiked in honor of a local small non-profit organization called Angels All Around You and with the pledges per mile that I hiked, over $6500 was raised and the $$ went straight to veterans and their families. Hopefully there is a hike coming up somewhere sometime soon to blog about too!
Happy hiking and be safe out there!
Thank you, my loves.
